ABOUT US
BARÇOBATTO, founded in Berlin anno 2025, is a project between two dear friends, Barçin and Marthe, who share a passion for creativity, craftsmanship and sustainability. Our shared interests are what first brought us together years ago in Berlin, and this remains the basis of our work together. When travelling together in Barçin’s hometown of İzmir, we met an incredible silversmith and jewellery artisan whose work sparked the beginning of our story.
Our Story
What started as a simple conversation grew into an idea between people that saw an opportunity to bring Turkish craftsmanship to Berlin. Our vision for this brand is to join creative forces with artisans to make unique, well-crafted products with respect for the craft itself and its material components. BARÇOBATTO was created based on a shared passion for artisanal craftsmanship and a desire to celebrate the beauty of handcrafted jewellery.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
BARÇOBATTO is about celebrating craftsmanship and creativity first and foremost, valuing both the product and the artisan. As founders, we believe there is great value in traditional craftsmanship, while at the same time, a great potential for finding more ethical and sustainable ways of creating. In working closely with artisans, we see an opportunity to directly examine which materials are used, where materials are sourced and how products are made. Together with our artisan who handcrafts our products, we aim to research, examine and rethink our sourcing and production process, and implement new practices where possible. We hope to discover and evolve as a brand as we go, learning new ways of making while honouring the tradition of local craft in İzmir.
In the future, we aspire to bring as much transparency, quality and authenticity to our customers as we can. This is the start of our journey, and with each step, we aim to make a difference. Every product made is an opportunity to create space for artisans and craftsmanship, making them a vital part of our story.
