925 STERLING SILVER
MATERIAL
Our jewellery is handmade fully from 925 Sterling Silver, its most durable form of silver for fine jewelry. This material is hard, resistant to dents and scratches, and hypoallergenic, making it a great choice for most skin types, and for everyday wear.
CARE
Though Sterling Silver is a highly durable, hard material, light tarnish may naturally appear on its surface layer due to sulfur reactions with the copper component in the alloy. This reaction causes the familiar slight tarnishing/darkening to appear on the surface of your sterling silver pieces over time.
Humidity, chlorine, make-up, cleaning products, and even the acid in your skin can all contribute to tarnishing. Luckily, this is only a surface layer and does not damage the inner structure of the metal. Tarnish is easily cleaned off with a specialised polishing cloth or a gentle at-home solution, restoring your piece to its original shine.
Here is an eco-friendly solution for cleaning your sterling silver jewelry at home:
You will need a small bowl, a layer of tinfoil and some salt. First, place a layer of tinfoil over the entire surface of the bowl, then add salt to the bottom. Place your jewelry in the bowl on top of the salt, and add hot water. A chemical reaction will occur, and you should see your jewelry becoming clean while the oxidation transfers to the foil instead of your jewelry piece. Let it sit for a few minutes, and finally carefully remove the jewelry, rinse thoroughly and dry it off with a cotton cloth.
GOLD-PLATED 925 STERLING SILVER
MATERIAL
Our gold products are made from the same 925 Sterling Silver foundation. They are then electroplated with a protective Nickel barrier, followed by a carefully measured 0.5 micron layer of gold. Our initial collection of products from August 2025 are coated with 0.5 microns of 14K Gold. Since then, we have reviewed our plating process and opted for plating with pure 24K Gold for a more long-lasting quality.
CARE
The Sterling Silver products are applied with a multi-layered coating to maximise durability, consisting of the protective Nickel barrier and a 0.5 micron Gold layer. The nickel barrier is key to preventing the underlying silver from tarnishing (sulfidation) and preserving the vibrancy of the gold finish. The protective nickel-barrier and gold layer are designed for durability, though as with all gold plating, time and friction will cause them to wear, revealing the silver base. To ensure your gold piece maintains its gold layer for as long as possible, we recommend
avoiding contact with harsh chemicals and water
every so often cleaning gently with a soft cloth
taking your piece off before going to bed
store in a cool and dry place, such as a box or pouch, when not in use
With regular wear but proper care, your piece can keep its gold layer for years to come.
NATURAL STONES
MATERIAL
Many of our products feature beautiful stones. We use natural stones, hand-selected by us in Turkey.
CARE
Natural stones may change their appearance or be damaged by external elements. It may be advisable to:
avoid harsh chemicals to protect porous stones, like turquoise, opal, from discolouration and damage
avoid extreme temperatures/thermal shock, causing internal fractures in certain stones
remove your jewellery before swimming, cleaning, or heavy physical activity
to clean, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth
Read our natural stone guide for more information on the stones we used in our newest collection.
